Spring Fun!!

So I decided that 7 months had gone by since I had last updated this blog of mine. A lot has happened in that time. I have only 6 more weeks in my first year of teaching school. I don't know who is more excited, the students or me. I really have loved teaching this year, but boy do the kids wear me out!! I have been sending them through Jedi training as a fun review for Core Testing. They have been having a great time getting ready to take on Darth Tester. They get to create light sabers at the end.



In other news, Spencer moved down and lives in the house next door to mine in Logan. We have have loved living so close since most of the time we have dated we have lived in separate states. He is studying furiously for finals right now and looking for a job for the summer. We can't wait to experience a summer in Logan together!



My brother, Nate, got married on March 14th. We are so happy for Nate and Tanja. I caught the bouquet and Spencer was a little nervous! ;) We also were very hungry at the temple and Alli, being very, very pregnant, handed out treats to us from her purse. I got a fortune cookie that had the fortune, "A tempting proposal will come your way." Spencer was very nervous, especially after the photographer, Robin, kept asking him if he was in or out of the family photos!


I am officially an aunt! Alli and Kyle are the proud parents of Grant, a very special little boy, who was born on March 20th. Grant was born with half of a heart and has spent the past five weeks fighting for his health. You can find more information about him here. We continually keep him in our prayers.

As far as my summer plans, I will be the administrator for my school's summer school program for about a month. Other than that, I am happily unemployed until fall unless something catches my eye.

For a laugh- One day last week we were playing Spelling Sparkle with the states and capitals. After spelling the state, the next person in line had to say the capital in order to get the person down. The state Alabama was correctly spelled and then it gets to one of my "problem" children who sighs and then says, "Uh, I don't know...Sweet Home?" in a joking way. We all started rolling on the ground laughing. To make things even funnier, later on in the week we were taking a test on the states and capitals and I had a girl, in all seriousness, write Sweet Home. She obviously didn't know that it was a joke. Until next time.... ;)
